Anime Spotlight #58

It’s Yu-Gi-Oh‘s kawaii little sister-anime!

What if Yugi were a girl?  Well, you’d have something like Fantasista Doll!

Young girls, and some boys, use an app-based card game to battle other app-holders for possession of their opponents’ cards.  The cards themselves are young girls in their own right, who won’t blindly follow their card-master so the master must earn the undying loyalty of those cards they own, and the rest are special-ability cards that the girls can use against their opponent.

Uno Uzume’s character is best described as “what you’d get if Haifuri‘s Akeno Misaki played card games competitively instead of pursuing a life in the Navy.”  She has a clue what she’s doing, yet, at the same time, not really.  When she wins a battle, it’s often from sheer dumb luck than anything else.  She’s hardly ever down on herself, and thinks of her cards as part of her family as opposed to mere cards to be used towards a card-master’s end-goal.

And, because this wouldn’t be the truest stereotypical Magical Girl Anime without it, Uno’s gotta be routinely visited by some random handsome dude giving her a quick pick-me-up before f-king off again….
